Privacy Policy

Short version: VerseLoom collects no personal data, sends nothing to any server, and requires no account. Your verses and review history exist only on your device.

1. Who we are

VerseLoom is an iOS application developed by Chuck Silver. It is a free, open-source Scripture memorization app with no backend service and no commercial data processing.

2. Data we collect

We collect nothing. VerseLoom does not collect, transmit, store, or process any personal information. Specifically:

No name, email address, phone number, or account credentials
No device identifiers, advertising IDs, or IP addresses
No usage analytics or crash reporting sent to any external service
No location data
No contacts, photos, camera, or microphone access

3. Data stored on your device

VerseLoom stores the following data locally on your iPhone using Apple's SwiftData framework:

Verse references and text you enter or import
Your spaced-repetition review history (dates, ratings)
Scheduling state (ease factor, review interval) for each verse

This data never leaves your device. It is not backed up to any VerseLoom-controlled server. It may be included in standard iOS device backups (iCloud Backup or local iTunes/Finder backup) that you control.

4. Third-party services

VerseLoom uses no third-party SDKs, analytics frameworks, advertising networks, or crash-reporting services. The app makes no network requests of any kind during normal operation.

5. Notifications

If you grant notification permission, VerseLoom schedules a daily local notification reminding you how many verses are due for review. This notification is generated entirely on-device by iOS and is never routed through any external server.

6. Apple frameworks

VerseLoom is built exclusively with Apple's standard frameworks (SwiftUI, SwiftData, UserNotifications). Apple may collect certain diagnostic and usage data from iOS in accordance with Apple's own Privacy Policy. This data collection is controlled by Apple and your iOS privacy settings, not by VerseLoom.

7. Children's privacy

VerseLoom does not collect any personal data from anyone, including children under 13. Because the app collects no data, it is safe for use by children under parental supervision.

8. Changes to this policy

If this policy changes materially, the updated version will be posted at this URL and the "Last updated" date above will be revised. Because the app collects no data, changes are unlikely.
